About The Role

We’re looking for an experienced and dedicated Senior Delivery Manager to join our Client Services Delivery Team. This role is critical as it forms a key part of our skills and development pathway to ensure we build and retain a strong delivery capability. The Senior Delivery Manager will be accountable for the effective delivery of complex projects within their assigned portfolio, ensuring projects meet client expectations and contribute to the commercial success of the organisation. 

DIMENSIONS 

Budget: Responsible for managing project budgets for their projects and escalating where appropriate and in line with our project guidance. 

Headcount: Leading multidisciplinary delivery teams on medium sized to larger project work. 

Resource complexity and nature of work teams: Overseeing project teams including internal staff and external associates. 

Problem solving responsibility and complexity: Overcoming project obstacles and ensuring successful delivery.

About You

ABOUT YOU 

Responsibilities 

Accountable for the successful delivery of complex projects, managing client expectations while ensuring commercial success. 

Build and maintain multidisciplinary delivery teams, ensuring they are motivated, collaborating, and working well together. 

Assist in the management of client accounts, identifying opportunities to grow revenues through project extensions or new opportunities. 

Support the professional development and continuous improvement of mid-weight delivery managers. 

Actively participate and support the development of a high-functioning Delivery Community of Practice. 

Engage and communicate effectively with client stakeholders. 

Consistently implement the defined delivery methodology to a high standard. Identify obstacles and help the delivery team to overcome them. 

Focus the project team on what is most important to the delivery of our products and services. 

Encourage and facilitate continuous improvement of our projects. 

Provide regular project and resource updates to Resource Managers and Heads of Delivery Management to plan and resource upcoming projects. 

Work effectively across multiple client projects and teams. 

Continuously maintain and update skills and knowledge to stay current within your relevant field of expertise 

 

Professional knowledge and experience 

Essential: 

Demonstrable experience in project management or delivery management roles.

 Strong understanding of agile and lean practices.

 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging client stakeholders. 

Experience in financial management and budget setting in project environments.

 Ability to manage multiple parts of the product life cycle. 

Desirable: 

An understanding of the GDS Service Standards and DDaT Framework

 Experience working with different levels of government and sectors like planning, health, and utilities 

Behaviours and PACT values 

Strategic thinking and alignment with business objectives 

Adaptability to changing priorities and business needs 

Strong customer-centric approach to delivery 

Innovation and continuous improvement mindset 

High level of integrity and accountability

Agile methodologies: Hands-on experience with agile methodologies and tools

 Risk management: Experience in identifying and managing project risks

 Financial forecasting: Skilled in budget management and financial forecasting

 Process improvement: Ability to challenge and improve project processes

 Planning: Experienced in leading planning processes in project environments
