Responsibilities

This is more than a ‘sales job’, though delivering and achieving continued growth is a central part of the role. We do this through building warm relationships, being alert to changing needs of our clients and delivery context, working with colleagues to develop and refine our offer and proposition, and working with and through project and delivery teams to achieve impact and outcomes that further strengthens and extends those relationships.

You’ll hold an explicit ‘number’ and be accountable for all growth opportunities within our key sectors, but we recognise market opportunity fluctuates so inclusive leadership and proactive contribution to the whole divisional target are paramount.  We value servant leadership models: you’ll work to support, lead and work collaboratively with colleagues across manifesto in Growth, Client Services, and in TPXimpact to support the achievement of our collective targets, which are essential for our continued investment in teams and capabilities, and our overall sustainability as a business.

The role holds specific accountability (in tandem with our Head of Bid Management) for ensuring and assuring the quality of our bids/tenders and the viability of both the approach, teaming model and commercial model: to improve our win ratios (currently well above industry average) and meet our quarterly forecast win expectations.

The Growth Partner will be an ambassador for manifesto in the marketplace and the sectors we are seeking to be leaders in. Working with the Exec Team and Client Strategy Partners, they will hold the manifesto vision and distil our offer and value proposition in that space.

You’ll sponsor and advocate for progressing opportunities and wider investments (in your team or around wider workforce development and partnership/acquisition) where that accelerates our reputation and where the work aligns to and advances our capacity and capabilities; and where those align with the company mission and the agreed operational/commercial parameters.

You’ll ensure we are using insights/data to understand and refine winning strategies, emerging themes/needs, competitor activity and positioning etc, and lead our response to those challenges and opportunities.

You’ll work with our strategic technology and community partners to ensure we’re getting the most out of our commercial relationships. This might include definition of joint GTM outbound campaigns and marketing material, attending conferences together, or nurturing a sales process collaboratively.

You’ll be part of the commercial leadership team: together, we’ll work to create the space and operate the levers which allow our project and delivery teams to thrive. You’ll articulate and hold a vision of a compelling development strategy for our key sectors, such that clients, colleagues and teams are inspired to be part of that journey for achieving impact in space.

  • You are fully accountable to the Director of New Business and Strategic Partnerships the development and execution of our strategy; meeting our revenue targets as a Division.
  • Through sponsorship, strategic vision and leadership, you’ll ensure a vibrant, forward pipeline of work which reflects TPX aspirations and our mission
  • You’ll be a visible authority in a specialist area or market for the company, and for our clients. Proactively shaping and influencing the market for our work.
  • You’ll devise and execute a strategies which reflects and changes the needs and issues faced by clients in those areas; is commercially sustainable; and clearly outlines the role we play in supporting clients in this space over the next 3-5 years
  • Working with your immediate team, capability teams and across TPXimpact you’ll ensure we design and implement innovative products/propositions/offers that solve client problems
  • You’ll use your profile and networks to influence and help shape the markets and spaces in which we deliver work to achieve our mission and meet our client's needs
  • You’ll bring sectoral knowledge and insights which will strengthen our profile and reputation rapidly in those spaces. We’d expect this to combine:
  • Pre-existing relationships with the influential voices and key decision makers in that space, which you’re able to leverage to build our presence, profile and reputation.

  • Fluency around policy, strategy, future commissioning direction and mid-/long-term challenges against which we can build and position.

About You

You’ll be passionate about growth and the challenge of growing a business that is focused on delivering a difference in the world.  This is more than a ‘numbers sales/biz dev role’. Yes, it requires the ability to ‘hunt’ new opportunities but it also requires the ability to understand potential clients' opportunities and issues and design potential solutions. This role directly contributes to thought leadership, marketing strategies, propositions and campaigns, manifesto GTM strategy and the all-round leadership experience. i.e You’ll have exceptional relationship skills.

You know and deeply understand the sectors we work in. You’ll be skilled at articulating client and sector challenges and helping to share and frame their context such that colleagues and project teams can navigate those spaces deftly to deliver and land project outcomes.

You will be highly experienced in leading a sales process, defining winning narratives, writing proposals and bids, leading pitch teams and closing sales. You will have experience of costing solutions and work against a number of models including fixed price, t&m and value based pricing.

You will be highly literate in being able to position our full-service offering that spans technology, product, digital transformation, design, delivery, digital experience and automation.
