About the role
Technology consultants help clients succeed in the face of digital change.
You will advise clients on strategy, governance, operating models and internal capabilities. You might focus on one service area or assessing the digital maturity of a whole organization. You will translate insights into solution architecture and concrete recommendations. Throughout, you will highlight how tech choices can impact people, processes and budgets.
The type of questions you will be helping to answer are:
- How can I maximize my existing technology assets?
- What is the best way to make procurement decisions to find the right solution for my context?
- How should I invest in building digital skills and capabilities in my organization?
- How do I make sense of my legacy technology estate and win financial buy-in to solve technical debt?
- How can I use emerging technologies to improve services for my customers, users or residents?
Your work will be human centered, design led and agile. You may work on projects alone, with a technical team, or in multi-disciplinary teams with designers and researchers.

Responsibilities
- Strategy: Advising clients on cross-organisation technology, digital and data strategy. Assessing operating models and team capabilities. Building strong relationships and acting as a trusted advisor.
- Discovery: Carrying out discovery work to understand the current technology landscape. Analyzing audit and usage data to learn about technology systems and users. Interviewing users and running workshops to understand user needs, issues and opportunities. Market research and horizon scanning to identify potential solutions.
- Technology solutions: Defining new technology solutions to meet client needs. Making concrete recommendations for strategic and tactical changes. Creating roadmaps to implement new solutions. Explaining the potential impact, costs, benefits and risks of your recommendations. Being pragmatic in proposing context-specific and sustainable solutions for that client.
- Prototyping: Working with development teams to build prototypes to test assumptions. Sharing discovery findings with engineers and providing a bridge between them and the business.
- Sales: Providing technology input on sales bids and pitches. Identifying opportunities to bring other TPX capabilities in to benefit the client and support our growth. Sharing knowledge and think-pieces internally and externally. Keeping up to date with market trends and emerging technology.
- Delivery: Taking accountability for your own deliverables within agile projects. Keeping your delivery manager informed of progress and blockers.
