About The Role

We are looking for an energetic, highly self-motivated and extremely organised individual to manage a newly established small but focussed central team and lead a modern, mature and scalable internal IT function based on a SaaS/PaaS cloud-based infrastructure. 

This role will report directly to the Commercial Director who will be accountable for the strategic direction of internal IT and will support you to make key decisions along the way.

You will work closely together to help galvanise the recently merged set of individual companies into a single, standardised organisation with a high-quality IT function which provides for our users. You will be responsible for day-to-day management, implementing standards and being an ambassador of best practice across the organisation as it grows with our ambitious 5 year plan.

  • Establish and manage the internal service desk team; looking after a wide range of SaaS & PaaS applications

  • Lead on rationalisation and consolidation of the current portfolio of applications towards a single, standardised set of tools for the organisation

  • Set-up and enforce a consistent set of standards for management of our portfolio of cloud-based apps

  • Own and maintain documentation of the internal IT estate

  • Establish and manage the hardware management lifecycle for all devices and peripherals across the company

  • Set-up, manage and own the Software Asset Register (SAR) and Hardware Asset Register (HAR)

  • Work with compliance colleagues to help advise and enforce information security, governance and certification standards across the IT estate (Incl. CyberEssentials+ and ISO27001)

  • Manage the relationships and contracts of the IT supply chain

  • Manage the internal IT budget and payments of the IT estate

  • Be the ambassador for a best industry practice scaled IT function and support our users to do their jobs effectively
  • Proactively monitor the IT estate and always seek opportunities to iterate and improve user experience and efficiency

  • Management of onboarding users on internal systems, taking into account access rights, roles and permissions

About You

Experience (Essential)
  • Industry standard, best-practice IT management

  • Hands-on IT team management in a cloud-based SaaS/PaaS environment

  • Service desk management

  • Hardware management

  • Apps rationalisation / consolidation projects

  • Supplier relationship management

  • Budget management


Experience (Nice to have)
  • Management of near/off-shore resources

  • Asset register management

  • CyberEssentials+ / ISO certification management

  • InfoSec / InfoGov expertise

  • Technical author

  • Process & systems improvement

  • Data management
