About The Role


This is an exciting new role in our growing bid and knowledge management team within the wider Growth function.

As an experienced member of the team, you will possess a keen attention to detail. You’ll be sales-focussed, and take an analytical view of complex projects. 

Using this analysis, and combining it with in-depth industry/sector/region/practice experience, you’ll be able to confidently support our Managing Partners to lead deals throughout the entire opportunity life cycle. 

You’ll work with our Bid and Knowledge Managers to develop compelling, winning content for bids; making it reusable wherever possible.

You may be someone who has held a bid manager role and wants to focus on content production over process management. At times of peak workload there may be a call, where you have the experience, to ask you to manage bids as well as contribute to them.

 

Responsibilities 

This list is not exhaustive but provides an overview of what you can expect this role to include:
 
  • Lead storyboard sessions with bid / proposal team members and key stakeholders
  • Proactively develop relationships with subject matter experts across TPXimpact
  • Assist the Bid / Proposal Manager in developing a proposal structure
  • Identify and re-work existing pre-written and visual content where relevant.
  • Deliver completed written proposal responses to the Proposal Manager against agreed deadlines, escalating issues as required.
  • Re-write / edit bid and proposal responses from a variety of stakeholders, typically involving contributions from sales, marketing, technical / product teams, finance, commercial, legal and delivery.
  • Ability to coach sales teams and subject matter experts in writing best practice.
  • Collaborate with the knowledge management team to maintain the content library, ensuring the latest material is accessible for potential re-use.
  • Communicate and influence at a senior level
  • Strong time management / prioritisation skills
  • Strong written English language skills

  • Line manage a team of bid managers; setting objectives and helping them develop their skills as part of their personal development plans.
  • Lead and motivate multi-functional bid teams in dispersed or complex environments.
  • Generate a positive and enthusiastic atmosphere where people can share feedback and opinions candidly and constructively.
  • Seek regularly feedback from across the company to improve your own performance and working practices as well as that of your team.

About You

Experience (essential) 

 
  • Leads with candor, humility and kindness
  • Considerable bid writing experience ideally within the Public and 3rd Sectors
  • Demonstrable consistent track record of contributing high quality written content to successful bid opportunities.
  • As happy and able managing bids as needed during team peak workloads as you are writing compelling, compliant answers.
  • Understands, uses and promotes collaborative working principles and techniques, e.g. sets up and contributes to communities of practice; runs after action review sessions.
  • Considerable collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
  • Highly developed organisation and time management skills
  • Understands our competitive marketplace
  • Solid understanding of internal governance procedures
  • Ensures timely delivery of compliant and commercially sound bid content

 

Experience (nice to have) 

 
  • Leading multi-million pound bidding cycles
  • Training sales teams on how to write compelling content and executive summaries
  • Corporate sector bidding experience
  • IT services, management consulting or digital experience background
  • APMP membership and qualification would be an asset
  • Multi-lingual and able to contribute and review bids in other languages
