You’ll provide leadership around, and accountability for our most important client relationships, accounts and growth prospects. You’ll bring a track record of holding accountability for large scale and deep-reaching projects and use your wisdom, judgement, expertise and occasional good humour to build confidence with new clients that we’re their best route to sustainable impact.
This is a role that asks a senior partner to hold a portfolio of work, practising delivery day-to-day and using that experience and credibility to grow into new areas. The opportunities for growth and delivery you’ll lead will range in scale, value and complexity, but in all cases you will have one core focus - finding ways to scale the impact that we can bring to our clients. This could cover winning a new, small piece of work with a client, growing a small engagement to a large one, or even securing a strategic partnership level agreement.
To be successful you’ll need to bring or develop:
- Your network and ability to grow it - understanding the value your existing relationships have and how to build more of them
- Your ability to understand problems and how TPXimpact works - to identify and realise opportunities to solve client problems
- The stories, expertise and specialism you own - to build confidence and trust in clients, collaborators and commissioners.
In our key areas - primarily the UK public sector with emergent work in commercial, higher education and commercial spaces - we are winning business critical digital transformation and change programmes, often in highly regulated environments, or where there can be no interruption to the provision of statutory services or matters of public health.
This role will be a hybrid role: Accountable for growth and delivery: Typically this will mean winning work and then building early client confidence by initiating delivery of the work you have bought in. In the most complex work you’ll play the role of sponsor and have support from a delivery colleague which holds the overall delivery responsibility while in other work you may need to do both.
Responsibilities:
As ambassador for TPXimpact, you’ll create a deep partnership with clients to create a seamless, trusting and empowering delivery environment. In the past you may have held a role similar to this, or delivered a programme of significant scale under the supervision of a visionary leader. You’ll be responsible for using these relationships, your knowledge of people’s problems and understanding of TPXimpact to bring in new business through bids and pursuing new opportunities. You’ll have a sales target which will give you the influence to drive how the organisation positions itself to attract new work.
This means you’ll need to maintain a careful balance of the needs of stakeholders, client relationship, team wellbeing, delivery pressures, the value of outcomes, needs of users, and positive impact. This will require pragmatism, keen observational skills and high emotional intelligence. Your communication skills and experience will allow you to instantly win the confidence of clients and your relentless pursuit of quality and standards will help clients maintain a strategic role and motivate teams by inspiring pride in their craft and work.
As delivery lead for TPXimpact you’ll take the tough calls to make sure that we stay on track, especially at the outset of new work. Once up and running, we’ll expect this to account for about half of your time. You’ll be accountable for setting early expectations of the delivery culture and making sure that teams are working in the open, engaging users and stakeholders and thinking creatively to solve client problems. You’ll ensure the leadership is there to provide creative and technical direction, ensuring the work is bold and ambitious. But you’ll also know when to bring others in; when you need support, inspiration or a disruptive force. You’ll model our commitment to becoming a reflective and active learning organisation.
You’ll be able to see, connect and talk passionately and convincingly about the change clients want to see whether this is improved user journeys journey or a new policy goal. You’ll use storytelling, visuals and analogies to inspire clients, partners and team members through knotty moments of ambiguity and uncertainty. You’ll be able to take any work and connect the day-to-day delivery to the impact, connecting it to what motivates to attract people to the work and clear the path to the end goal.
As a people leader for TPXimpact your personal leadership will ensure that teams experience the values of TPXimpact in everything we do, by instilling purpose, modelling accountability, recognising craft and fostering togetherness. You’ll quickly build a rapport with teams and clients and be able to land quickly and ready-to-go. You’ll advocate for teams to approach problems with creativity, challenge clients and assumptions so that we can deliver brilliantly and build capability within their permanent teams. You’ll embrace the concept of failing fast: creating spaces to experiment so we can rapidly learn and iterate - it means we constantly hold ourselves to account for improving the end result.
