About The Role

The role of Sector Delivery Lead is pivotal to helping Digital Experience (DX) achieve its commercial, client and strategic success, cementing our position as a leading experience agency. 

Responsibilities 


This Sector Delivery Lead will be responsible for the operational and delivery excellence of a specific sector (Public Sector & Higher Education) within DX. They will work closely with a Client Strategy Partner (who is accountable for the portfolio of work in their sector), to ensure that all work is properly planned and executed and they are the first line of defence to ensure the work is well managed.  They will also work with a Sector Strategy Lead to help develop and share a deep understanding of their sector.


The Sector Delivery Lead will be responsible for overseeing and line managing a number of Delivery Managers (2-5) who sit within the overall Delivery Studio as well as for the programme overview of the accounts and projects in their sector, acting as a mentor and sounding board to the more junior members of staff. 


This role will report into DX’s Delivery Director.

These responsibilities will be both billable (60%) and non-billable (40%).


About You

Experience 

Essential

 
  • Programme Management of a set of account.  Proven ability to act as a point of escalation and support for project issues or challenges.
  • Solid experience of managing the core delivery elements of project scope, budget and timeline.  
  • Knowledge of working with or in organisations which fall under the Public Sector and/or Higher Education areas.
  • The ability to develop a deep understanding of key client organisations and identify opportunities to improve the experience for clients’ customers and supporters.
  • You will be responsible for working with the Sector Growth Lead on all new business activity; so previous experience of writing proposal documentation and representing at pitches is ideal.
  • Establishing governance models and/or working within good examples; supporting project ways of working. 
  • Line Management and/or mentoring of Delivery Managers. 
  • Coaching of project teams across different capabilities (not just Delivery) - e.g. developers, designers, testers. 
  • Mentor and inspire other Project Managers to help them develop their skills, suggesting training where needed. Embed proven best practice to help the team develop and consistently deliver amazing work.

Desirable 

  • Pro-active voice and leader in the wider Delivery community; support the coaching of Delivery Managers, including through the Delivery Community of Practice.
  • A network outside of DX and the ability to use this to help us broaden our skills and client base.
  • Facilitation/hosting of external sessions on Delivery best practice and Agile/product ways of working.
