About The Role

You will report directly to the Head of Product.

The Outpost Platform is a suite of applications, tools and resources that make new service directories possible. It's free, open source and community-driven .

Outpost was originally developed by FutureGov, now TPXimpact, in 2019 while working with the Buckinghamshire Family Information Service. In 2022 TPXImpact began work with the Royal Borough of Greenwich and the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) via the Local Digital Fund to create a reusable directory product.

While this role requires lots of product management experience, you must also be flexible in your delivery management. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team and be responsible for the whole lifecycle of the product.

You will need to be ambitious, defining compelling product roadmaps that meet business and customer needs and working with a sense of urgency to move quickly and deliver results promptly. You will have the skills to turn your roadmap increments into real value for the stakeholders through your creative and resourceful mindset, finding new and better ways to approach problems and create solutions. You will be willing to take calculated risks and make bold decisions whilst making the most of limited resources and finding creative solutions to complex problems.

With your deep understanding of and dedication to meeting customer needs, you will be able to innovate Outpost as a product, taking ownership and being accountable for its success. Your collaborative mindset and excellent communication will see you build strong relationships with team members and stakeholders.

You will also be responsible for helping grow the number of local authorities using Outpost and generate an income pipeline from the platform.

Supporting and growing the Outpost community in Local Government and looking for new opportunities in other sectors are also beneficial to this role.

Part of your role will also include supporting existing and new live services throughout their entire lifecycle.

With your thorough awareness of digital technologies and agile delivery methods, you will have a knack for product innovation with one eye on the future and the aptitude to do all of this within a complex stakeholder environment. And, of course, you’ll be keeping budgets in check and delivering to tight operational deadlines.
