About The Role

Reporting to the Finance and Operations Manager, this role is integral to supporting the day-to-day finance function of the TPXimpact Data and Insights division and our clients. As a proactive, approachable, and highly professional individual, this role is key to the smooth running of our business for all stakeholders.


The successful Finance Assistant will support the Finance and Operations Manager with all aspects of the TPXimpact Data and Insights accounts including monthly management accounts, reconciliations and taking responsibility for daily cash movements. The successful applicant will be a key member of the team managing and assisting in the gathering of reporting data.


Responsibilities:


  • To process and oversee the work of financial transactions, accounts payable, journals, etc, by thoroughly checking and correcting the accounting and other relevant financial records (Including bank reconciliation and cash flow reports)
  • Monitor accounts receivables, communicating with the relevant parties to ensure these are paid within expected timeframes
  • To provide support in the monthly finance activities (processing bills for payment, generating invoices and reconciling against purchase orders
  • Supporting the project teams with all areas of project finance (including understanding timesheets and purchase orders)
  • To maintain balance sheet reconciliations and assist in the preparation of journals to be entered correctly in the accounting system
  • To apply the basic accounting principles, knowledge, and techniques to analyse variances, assist in production of journals, and perform routine accounting activities
  • To perform accounting computations and calculations accurately, and try to identify if there are discrepancies, and, if there are any errors, try to resolve them
  • Responsible for maintaining and updating the accounting and finance spreadsheets and journal logs and to ensure that they are compliant with organisations rules and regulations, and any other relevant legislation (utilising structured templates)
  • Ability to handle high volumes of financial data and information and should be well acquainted with ways of storing and retrieving it whenever there is any need.
  • Responsible for handling inquiries and queries and providing information about the fiscal policies and procedures
  • Assist in budget preparation (including annual budgets and re-forecasts), gathering historical averages and liaise with divisional SLT to include expected spends 
  • Supporting quarterly VAT returns, checking expense reports and invoices for VAT reporting
  • Help manage, collate, and review expense reports
  • To maintain, update, and retrieve the financial information from the Group-wide financial database and system to assist with Group reporting
  • Continue to support the company wide synchronisation across systems, being flexible as clear processes are defined
  • General admin tasks as and when required
  • General project tasks on an ad-hoc basis

About You

Experience required:
 
  • Excellent communication skills and able to work across teams within the business confident when liaising both internally and externally with potential customers and suppliers. The ability to liaise with different departments and multiple business disciplines and be able to prioritise accordingly
  • Outstanding organisational and time management skills 
  • Ability to problem solve and come up with solutions
  • Keen to learn and open to work outside your comfort zone
  • Excel knowledge (able to use formulae, lookups and pivot tables)
  • Knowledge of the NetSuite accounting package is desirable but not essential
  • Part qualified and studying towards a recognised accounting qualification (AAT, ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Team player, adaptable and dynamic, proactive mindset
  • Attention to detail is essential
  • 3+ years in accounting or finance roles.
