About The Role

At this exciting time in the Company’s development, we are seeking an outstanding individual to take on the role of Group Financial Accountant. Reporting to the Group Technical and Consolidation Manager, this role will be a key player in the Group’s central finance team which is responsible for all internal and external finance matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the Group’s consolidation and driving improvement in the consolidation processes
  • Preparation of published financial information e.g. production of Group’s year-end and interim results and financial statements, including the Annual Report
  • Calculation and analysis of the Group’s technical areas of accounting including IFRS2 Share-based payments and IFRS3 Business Combinations, including recognition of goodwill, acquired intangible assets and relevant fair value adjustments
  • Monitoring of Group‘s shares and calculation of earnings per share, in accordance with IFRS
  • Reconciling inter-company balances across the Group
  • Impairment reviews of goodwill and intangible assets
  • Providing technical advice on areas of judgement and challenge to entities within the Group
  • Developing reporting processes/controls across Finance to improve reporting efficiency
  • Assisting in external audits and co-ordinating subsidiaries’ responses to audit questions
  • Assisting with ad hoc projects as needed

About You

Essential Experience
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Able to work in a dynamic work environment, under pressure and to meet challenging deadlines – time management and organisational skills are essential
  • Self motivated and proactive with a can do attitude towards work
  • Resilient, flexible and adaptable – challenge the status quo by offering alternative perspectives and innovative solutions, based on sound judgement and constructive insight
  • Hold highest levels of professional and personal integrity
  • Recently qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) with experience gained from working in a Group company structure, preferably within a listed company environment
  • Up to date knowledge of IFRS accounting standards
  • Excellent Excel skills essential; familiarity with Netsuite accounting system helpful
