About The Role

We are looking for an energetic, self-motivated and organised individual to join a small but focussed central team that are establishing a modern, mature and scalable internal IT function based on a SaaS/PaaS cloud-based infrastructure. 

This role will report directly to the IT Manager who is accountable for management of internal IT and will support you to make key decisions along the way.

You will work closely together to help galvanise the recently merged set of individual companies into a single, standardised organisation with a high-quality IT function which provides for our users. You will be responsible for day-to-day operations and helping to embed good standards and best practice across the organisation as it grows with our ambitious 5 year plan.


Responsibilities

  • Work as part of the the internal service desk team; helping users with desktop support, hardware issues and a wide range of SaaS & PaaS applications

  • Manage the hardware management lifecycle for all devices and peripherals across the company

  • Manage the Software Asset Register (SAR) and Hardware Asset Register (HAR)

  • Manage onboarding of users onto internal systems, taking into account access rights, roles and permissions

  • Enforce consistent standards for management of our portfolio of cloud-based apps

  • Enforce information security, governance and certification standards across the IT estate

  • Support in the running of internal audits 

  • Support the documentation of the internal IT estate

  • Support in rationalising and consolidating the current portfolio of applications towards a single, standardised set of tools for the organisation

  • Proactively monitor the IT estate for vulnerabilities and opportunities for improvement

  • Manage onboarding of users onto internal systems, taking into account access rights, roles and permissions

About You

Experience (essential)

  • Industry standard, best-practice ITOps

  • Hands-on ITOps management in a cloud-based SaaS/PaaS environment

  • Service desk

  • Hardware management

  • Asset register management


Experience (nice to have)

  • Working with near/off-shore resources

  • CyberEssentials+ / ISO certification management

  • InfoSec / InfoGov expertise

  • Apps rationalisation / consolidation projects

  • Technical author

  • Process & systems improvement

  • Data management
